Cut

Step 1 Divide the hair into three sections: sides/back, top and front.
Step 2 Addressing the back area, take vertical cutting sections and create clean, square layered shapes. (90º angle)
Step 3 Follow through to each side, ensuring fluidity between the back and sides. As you move down from the lower occipital, taper-cut to the nape.
Step 4 Using scissor-over-comb technique, work the layers with tapering scissors to create a soft, grownout feel.
Step 5 Point-cut into the side ends to remove sharp lines.
Step 6 Moving to the top section, point-cut to create a textured crown.
Step 7 The top crown section should be disconnected, falling to one side and back.
Step 8 Use point-cutting and slicing techniques to connect the top right to the right side.
Step 9 Make the top left side longer and more disconnected as it flows into the fringe.
Step 10 Cut the fringe, moving from right to left, allowing the perimeter to become longer as you progress.
