When stylist Tom Bozier of Sydney, Australia's Toni & Guy salon set out to create the Haute Renaissance collection, he reflected on the decadence of the past. Lured by the luxury and baroque style of the Renaissance period, Bozier was further inspired by the elaborate collections created by iconic fashion houses Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Balmain.
The hair was subtly influenced by the luxe textures that embellished the clothing, as well as the exaggerated accessories and artistic use of rich metallics. The point of difference for Bozier was to reinvent this classic styling and challenge the expectations of this period. Working on the iconic Semele Walk, which debuted at Sydney Festival 2013, provided fresh inspiration. The show reinterpreted the rules of the art forms of the times-from opera to couture to beauty, and to the extreme.
The Haute Renaissance collection, although much more refined, tailored and precise than Semele Walk, plays up the concept of fusion and the reinterpretation of the traditions of Renaissance in a modern form. The images are in classic black and white, with an emphasis on capturing luxurious shine and precise styling.
Collection: Fall/Winter 2014 Amanda Iqbal of La Relance Salon in Glencoe Ill., unveils the Color Behind the Silver Screen collection, which was created for a modern generation that is seeking the ultra-glamorous style that once dominated Hollywood's iconic Silver Screen.
The look on her is soft, full, and inspired by color. "When people think of a colored redhead, they automatically think 'shocking,' but when I think of red, I think of harmony," says Amanda Iqbal.
A collaboration of warm and cool tones reflect a perfect combination of light and dark variation.
"As for him, he's the unobtainable star with the perfectly coiffed hair," says Iqbal. "The ultra-icy white hair in this collection captures his sky blue eyes and chiseled features." It's all about color!
