Jennifer Morrison: Fairytale Style
As the character Emma Swan in ABC's "Once Upon a Time," actress Jennifer Morrison is believed to be the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. So when Matrix Artistic Director and star stylist Ammon Carver was called upon to style the actress for a day of television appearances to promote the show in New York City, he knew he would be expected to create some truly magical hair. Fortunately, Morrison has impressive, gorgeous locks, so Carver really enjoyed styling it.
Morrison's day began with a debut on Good Morning America and she requested a style that was similar to her Emma Swan style-long and gently waved. To create the look, Carver applied Matrix Total Results Moisture Cure 2-Phase Treatment to Morrison's damp hair and then he applied Matrix Design Pulse Go Big Extra Strong Hold Mousse. After blow drying her hair, Carver swirled sections vertically with a curling iron, alternating the rotation direction from section to section for natural movement. After the curls cooled and relaxed slightly, Carver "set" Morrison's strands with a few blasts of Matrix Vavoom ShapeMaker Extra-Hold Hairspray….and she was off to the set.
Morrison's next stop was "Live! With Kelly." Ammon performed a quick transformation by sweeping Morrison's long fringe back and pinning it into place, while the ends remained full and flouncy. He also helped her select her fabulous shoes and was gratified when the fashionable Kelly Ripa swooned over the gorgeous pumps.
Sirius Radio was the last stop of the day. While there, Morrison taped some video spots and audio interviews. Before going on camera, Carver gathered Morrison's tresses into a bouncy ponytail and fashioned her fringe into a trendy braid. "It looked really cute!" says Carver. "She loved it."
Thanks to the Go Big Extra Strong Hold Mousse and Vavoom Shapemaker Extra-Hold Hairspray, Morrison's hair looked just as dazzling for her final appearance as it did for her first. "That's a happy ending fit for a fairy tale princess," says Carver.
