Empire Beauty School Student to Share her Experience through Blog
Whitehall, PA - Nina Thompson, formerly Empire's Social Media Specialist, will begin classes at the Whitehall, PA Empire Beauty School this month to fulfill her lifelong dream of pursuing a career in Cosmetology. She plans to record her experience through her new blog www.beautyschoolstudent.com.
Once licensed, Thompson will become the third generation of her family to enter a career in the beauty business. "Some of my earliest memories were in the four walls of my Mom's beauty salon." said Thompson. "Spinning my sister around on the styling chair, on Fridays the wash and set ladies letting me stand on their lap to take out their rollers, getting a round brush stuck in my hair and watching my mother very closely as she worked, I wanted to do everything she did."
Thompson, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, is retuing to school after more than a year and a half on staff at Empire. "I felt like my heart was in the wrong place. Working for Empire Education Group put me in the right industry, I was just on the wrong side of it. I was bo into this industry, I am going to be the proud third generation Empire graduate in my family; my mom and grandmother were the biggest inspiration my whole life."
Empire believes Thompson's blog will be of interest to perspective students, researching a career in beauty. "What better way to find out what beauty school is like than from a current student." said Dr. Carl Bridges, Empire's Senior Vice President of Education. "We are thrilled Ms. Thompson will be able to give the public an inside look into her jouey through Empire."
Thompson begins classes this week, and hopes to graduate next fall. Visit www.empire.edu for more information.
