How to do a zipper braid hairstyle
Step 1: Pick up a strand along the natural hairline on the side of the temple. Divide into three. These will be your main working strands-left, middle and right.
Step 2: Cross the left strand under the middle one and put it on top of the right.
Step 3: Wrap the middle one around two other strands and temporarily clip it aside on top.
Step 4: Separate a strand from the loose hair on the right, weave it under the middle over the left strands. Clip it temporarily on top on the left.
Step 5: Separate a strand from the loose hair on the left now. Weave it over the middle and under the right strands. Switch it with the hair in the clip on the right side.
Step 6: Weaving style changes. Separate a strand from the loose hair on the right side. Join together two closest strands. The separated strand from the right is now being weaved over the two joined strands and under the left strand. Clip it after releasing the hair on the left.
Step 7: Pick up a strand from the loose hair on the left. Again, join together two closest strands and weave the hair from the left over those two and under the right strands. Release the hair in the clip on the right and switch it with the new strand.
Step 8: Continue braiding the "Flash" across the nape till the opposite temple.
Step 9: Connect the strands and braid couple times.
Step 10: Secure the braid with a rubber band at the base and loosen the rest of the hair so that it looks like a ponytail.
Step 11: Separate a thin strand from the ponytail and cover the rubber band with it. Secure the ends with a bobby pin.
