Men CUT Tyler Johnston, Duffy
Hair: Tyler Johnston, Duffy Color: Tracy Hayes Makeup: Maria Olsson Photo: Simon Emmet Products: Schwarzkopf Professional
1-4. We start our haircut by taking a horseshoe shape section from temple to temple. Begin cutting at the front temple area, just above the ear lifting out each section at a 45° angle to the head. Direct the first section downwards to retain weight through the outline and levate each subsequent section to create a graduated shape. The sections are then worked diagonally all the way around the head through to the opposite side in the back.
5-7. Repeat this cutting procedure for the other side of the head. A guideline will appear through the centre back.
8-11. The top section is then combed down and sectioned from ear to ear and from front to back. Beginning in the back, take triangular sections and work around the head to behind the ear. Pull each section out at a 90° angle to the head and connect to the graduated
shape underneath. Repeat the same sectioning and cutting procedure on the other side of the head. Over direct the front section back to behind the ear and loosely connect using a pointing technique. Now dry the entire haircut.
12-13. We now use a slicing technique throughout the shape to refine and soften the edges. Elevate sections through the crown and use a pointing technique. The outlines are softened with the point of the scissors but left loose.
14. Finished look.
