Orbis

Creating ominous beauties that flaunt their dark sensuality, Jake Thompson uses their curves, curls and smoldering eyes to elicit the promise of bliss and danger. With locks dipped in midnight ink and curls that play within crescent silhouettes, stylist Jake Thompson of Lunatic Fringe Salon in Salt Lake City departs from his signature style to flirt with the shadowy side of beauty.

"When darkness overtakes my creative mood, I'm always drawn to curl: It's never still; it breathes; it twists into patterns of its own design," he reveals. "I used the sinewy nature of this texture to create lunar silhouettes that seamlessly arc to the models' curves, especially their keen eyes that are shrouded in blackness."

Brandishing their sensuality with glowing glares, are these ominous beauties predators in search of love or prey? "That's for you to decide," Thompson smiles. "Seduction can be fraught with danger-or not." (JakeThompsonHair.com)
