Imperfect Textures

Her mother may have taught her privileged ideals, but she's heading in the opposite direction-over-the-top street culture. The first order of rebellion: ber-messy hair designs that are sure to receive maximum reaction, whether it's her mother's horror-stricken expression or the awe-inspired smiles of her closest confi dantes. Love Affair

Collection: Fall/Winter 2012
Indie brand Je Beau International reflects the essence of "Old Hollywood Glamour" with a modern edge that is relevant to today's clientele. Its "Love Affair Collection" represents women worldwide who have lots of "love affairs" with life-by enjoying a romance, finding their own laughter, and experiencing the many passions women have-all while having the courage to be who they want to be.

Gray Gardens

Gray Gardens

Collection: Fall/Winter 2012
Through her collection "Gray Gardens," stylist, salon owner and educator Christine Zilinski tells a story of transformation-from polished to undone-from proper to unraveled-and from controlled to wildly rebellious. Her well-crafted collection was inspired by the movie "Gray Gardens," which narrates a moving story about a sophisticated, aristocratic woman who slowly descends into madness. Zilinski presents a series of chic, avant-garde images with the hair, which is used as a tool to express a changing state-of-mind. The beauty, fashion and architectural elements also tell that unraveling story. Structured shapes become loose and take on an eccentric quality as the woman spirals downward. The wardrobe, which complements the theme, takes a turn from light and feminine to crazy and mismatched, and showcases bold prints. The shoot backdrop-a gray garden of sorts, features an abandoned warehouse, which adds to the cold, concrete, industrial vibe.
