Color Wars
The Grand Opening of the 2013 Redken Symposium lured renowned stylists and showcased awe-inspiring hair. It also revealed the shining stars of Redken's Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor Contest! With nearly 500 entries, stylists nationwide submitted their signature looks in the "Signature Haircolor" and "Young Talent" categories. They all used a magical formula-Redken's Chromatics Prismatic Permanent Color to create their winning looks.
Within the Signature Haircolor category, stylists were challenged to create a show-stopping look using Chromatics Prismatic Permanent Color in one of the following three categories: Most Brilliant Red, Most Dramatic Makeover and Avant-Garde. One lucky and talented winner from each category was selected to attend the 2013 Redken Symposium. There, they recreated their winning looks and showcased them during the Grand Opening event.
Judged by a panel of renowned Redken Artists, including David Stanko, Redken Haircolor Consultant; Tracey Cunningham, Redken Creative Consultant for Color; Kris Sorbie, NAHA Winner & Redken Education Artistic Director; and Leah Freeman, Redken Artist & Chromatics Artistic Advisor, the following stylists were selected as winners:
Most Dramatic Makeover-Erica Hardy, Corpus Christi, Texas
Most Brilliant Red-Megan Gepner, Lake Stevens, Wash.
Avant-Garde Look-Mary Harris, Knoxville, Tenn.
Within the Young Talent category, beauty school students or stylists with less than two years of experience (aged 18-25) entered a creative look using Chromatics. Out of three finalists, the winner was selected on the buzzing main stage at the Grand Opening by 10,000 of their peers.
The prize: A trip to New York City for a Redken Education Experience including one class at the Redken Exchange.
