Children Care
Hair Restoration Institute of DFW-a full-service treatment center helping those with mild to significant hair loss, will host a hair donation Cut-A-Thon at its Fort Worth facility throughout January, 2013.
Through its partnership with nonprofit Wigs for Kids, it will provide custom wigs for children suffering from hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.
Hair Restoration Institute of DFW will perform donation ponytail cuts and a complimentary cut/style for the hair donors. Donations must be a minimum of 12 inches in length.
Those interested in donating can call Hair Restoration Institute of DFW at 817.882.8288 or visit http://e2.ma/click/6zpae/ihj2wd/6fqx4 to make an appointment.
Custom-made, hand-tied and made completely from human hair, each wig ranges in value from $1,500 to $3,000. To develop the hairpieces, Wigs for Kids worked with doctors and prosthetics specialists to craft special wigs that would withstand typical children's behavior and closely resemble children's regular hair-even when wet.
An application must be filled out for each child. To obtain an application form.HRI of DFW is located in Fort Worth at 1201 West Lancaster Avenue.
