A-lister Jennifer Lawrence recently went on tour visiting three cities-Plantation, Fla.; Bloomington, Minn. and Seattle-to promote the release of her upcoming film, "The Hunger Games." For each milestone along the way, stylist David Babaii created Lawrence's feminine looks, including a modern day Brigitte Bardot inspired look. Created specially for the March 8 event at the Broward Mall in Plantation, Fla, Babaii created a flirty high ponytail.
To achieve this look, he applied IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Style Mousse Extra Strong to damp hair and then blow-dried it with a medium round brush concentrating at the root area to achieve maximum volume and lift. When the root area dried, the savvy stylist continued drying the hair and created soft curls with a small round brush. To achieve this, Babaii took sections and wrapped them around a small round brush, placing the nozzle directly on the wrapped section and holding it for 8 to 10 seconds on high heat followed by a blast of cool air. This sets the curl and leaves the sections in soft curled waves. The fringe was dried with a large round brush to smooth. Next, Babaii sprayed Lawrence's tresses with IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Definition Hairspray while brushing it up into a very high ponytail and securing it with a coated band. With a tail comb, Babaii lifted the top area gently from the ponytail to create a Brigitte Bardot bump for some height. To finish, he finger-combed the ponytail using IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Texture Spray to add soft disconnected curls.
Brigitte Bardot was Babaii's inspiration for the March 9 National Mall Tour event, which was held in Bloomington, Minn. Babaii created a glamorous half up/half down style. To begin, he added IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Fluid Experience for a medium soft hold. After drying Lawrence's long tresses, using his fingers to create defined texture, the fringe was smoothed straight with slight volume by using a large round brush. Next, Babaii took the top and sides, lifting them slightly before securing them with pins for a slight bump. The bottom section was then curled with a large barrel curling iron to create loose waves. To finish, Babaii finger-combed the hair with IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Definition Hairspray to loosen the waves with a medium holding spray.
Seattle was Lawrence's last stop on March 10. Babaii created a bohemian Brigitte Bardot look for this special tour. To achieve the casual look, Babaii sprayed IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Texture throughout the hair prior to blow-drying. Using a large round brush, he blew her hair in sections, creating loose spiral waves. The fringe area was dried with a medium round brush while cupping the ends under. When he finished the dry styling, Babaii warmed a small amount of IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Definition Paste in his hands and ran it through Lawrence's long locks to create a soft piecey texture and definition. To finish, Babaii lightly sprayed the style with IT&LY HAIRFASHION's Pure Definition Hairspray.
