Retro Glamour
Michelle Williams lit up the Red Carpet with a retro-inspired style that demonstrated that even short hair can be glamorous. Styled by Chris McMillan of Wella Professionals, Williams sported a simple style that was accessorized by chic black headband. "Michelle looks incredible with this short, modern Mia Farrow inspired style," says stylist Chris McMillan. "It's a retro '60s combined with Flapper-flair type of look that shows there's still a lot of glamour and versatility with short hair."
McMillan first applied Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse to Williams' wet hair and then shaped her hair with his hands to let it air dry naturally, in the direction of the style. Once Williams' hair was dry, McMillan used his hands and a hair dryer directed at the roots to provide an extra lift at the crown and throughout the body. After that, McMillan applied shine serum Wella Professionals Mirror Polish to create a more finished look. It also smoothed hair into shape.
Finally McMillan crowned the look with a simple yet elegant black headband. Embellished with a jeweled brooch, it brought a modern-day spin to this retro look. Then McMillan pushed Williams' bangs over to the side where the jewel was situated for a heavy fringe effect. To smooth her hair down and provide hold throughout the star-studded night, McMillan sprayed Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray.
