Seeing Green
Lights, camera, action! The focus: eco-fashion and Pureology hair passion. As an ongoing supporter of environmental non-profit organization, Global Green USA, Pureology did its share in shaping a more sustainable future. It recently enlisted Pureology's environmentally conscious stylists, Natasha Sunshine and Sherilynn Smart, to lead the "Eco-Chic Fashion Show" hair team at Global Green USA's 7th Annual Gorgeous and Green benefit in San Francisco. Joining Sunshine of Byu-ti Hair Therapy, A Pureology Salon in Santa Monica, Calif., and Smart of Lafayette, Calif.'s Sherilynn Jade Salon, were PureArtists Stacey (Rae) Barnes and Shara Deaton.
The green event celebrated the organization's smart climate solutions, and drew more than 300 attendees including A-listers Michelle Branch, Peter Mensah and Rosario Dawson (live via satellite). Guests were treated to a stellar performance by Michelle Branch and a runway show that flaunted eco-chic fashions. The eco-conscious show spotlighted topnotch designers such as Oliver Tolentino, Minolya, Daniel Sudar, PACT and Karen Caldwell-all fuse high style with sustainability. In keeping with the green theme, attendees also nibbled on a menu of delicious organic treats and celebrated with sustainably sourced cocktails.

40's Glamour with a 70's Twist/Retro Curls
- Begin with clean dry hair
- Heat two small curling irons (a 1/2 inch barrel and a 3/4 inch barrel).
- Start at the nape spraying Pureology ColourStylist FortifyingHeatSpray protective primer before curling each 1 inch sized section with the smaller iron first. Continue until the entire nape is set.
- Switch to the larger 3/4 inch iron and continue curling until you are 2 inches from your part line and stop leaving the roots straight.
- Place long clips at the line of separation between curls and straight hair and give an all over mist of ColourStylist StrengtheningControl zero dulling hairspray.
- Let hair set for 15 minutes. Add heat if possible (a heater or diffuser will work).
- Emulsify a pea-sized amount of ColourStylist CuticlePolisher with two sprays of ColourStylist RadianceAmplifier to create a polishing serum.
- From the bottom up, run fingers through the set to break up the curls and create voluminous width. Lace or tease under side of the hair for extra volume.
- Leaving your long clips in, give a final round of spray and remove the clips to finish the look.
