'Red Carpet Color' Education Program
For Immediate Release - In an intimate setting at the chic Londoner Salon in Manhattan Beach, California, Joico Celebrity Colorist George Papanikolas combined solid education with freewheeling entertainment when he conducted his unique “Red Carpet Color” program for salon staffers. The session was designed to offer stylists an inside look at the exclusive color techniques that Papanikolas uses on celebrity clients like Nicole Richie and Mila Kunis, and Sara Michelle Gellar.
“These days, salon clients are turning less often to fashion magazines and more often to celebrities for their hair inspiration,” explains Papanikolas. “They’re bringing in photos from USWeekly, rather than Vogue. This class is an effort to provide stylists with the type of education they can truly use—education that is celebrity-focused and therefore relevant to their work and to their clients.”
The focus of Papanikolas’ program is Ombre color--today’s hottest Hollywood look. “It’s an out-of-the-box effect that is one of the most in-demand looks for celebrities and is now being requested in salons everywhere,” he reveals. His program offers two versions of the Ombre technique, which he has dubbed “Dialed Up” and “Dialed Down.” Dialed Up employs a unique backcombing and foil technique for an edgy, dramatic result, while Dialed Down presents George’s signature, subtle Ombre how-to. The four-hour program included two presentation models and two hands-on demonstrations, and also covered George’s popular “beach wave” finishing technique. Refreshments were served and attendees left with samples of Joico’s hottest new products—Smooth Cure System and K-PAK RevitaLuxe Bio-Advanced Restorative Treatment.
“It was a great class,” comments Londoner Owner and Shear Genius Season 1 Winner Anthony Morrison. “George is a gifted educator and our staff got so much information. He’s also a lot of fun—we laughed and laughed!”
The Londoner session was the third in Papanikolas’ tour—he presented two classes in Toronto earlier in the year and his next session is scheduled for Indianapolis in November. Papanikolas will hold sessions in six additional cities in 2012. Contact your distributor or visit www.joico.stilelounge.com for schedules and additional information.
