Panasonic Unveils Hair-Washing Robot
Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has developed a robot that can wash and even dry hair.
The current model has 16 fingers, with one sporting 24-fingers scheduled to be released early next year.
Originally designed for the aged and infirm, it's also proving to be a big hit among high-tech junkies and other customers who believe that do-it-yourself isn't such a good idea.
How it Works
The robot first scans the head before performing a series of hair-washing processes.
The device can store the data of each person’s head shape and preferred washing modes, in order to recreate the same hair-washing and scalp-care experience every time.
Preferred pressure and washing techniques can be changed with the touch of a button, including having the robotic fingers focus on a specific area of the hair or scalp.
Does this robot foretell the future of salons? Only time will tell!
