Who needs cranky clients with rumbling tummies? Having a salon appointment right after work can be taxing for clients who've been without food since lunch. Here are some nutritious and satisfying snacks that can balance their moods and make salon visits more enjoyable for them... and you.
Beyond the cookies and snack bars that are typically offered, Kasia Michalski, President and Founder of EatFit, a general and sports nutrition coaching company, dishes on some innovative yet easy treats that can be quickly and easily prepared at your salon.
Kasia's Top Six Picks
1. Hummus on whole grain bread. Spread hummus and cut bread slices into four pieces and add tomato and cucumber. For extra zest, top with chopped dill or red pepper flakes.
2. Frozen Grapes. Freeze grapes and serve with raw/unsalted nuts.
3. Raw Veggies. Serve baby carrots, celery sticks, raw cauliflower or broccoli with hummus or salsa.
4. Ants on a Log. Spread peanut butter on celery sticks. Cover with raisins.
5. Hardboiled Eggs. Half the egg and top with hummus and a cucumber slice. Sprinkle red pepper flakes.
6. Serve trail mix that contains apricots, raisins and nuts. Lightly sprinkle with sea salt.
