When interviewed for this article, Adrian Dime—who was just 10 hours shy of graduation at the Steven Papageorge Hair Academy—had already earned industry accolades as the winner of the Rising Stars Photo Competition among beauty school students at America's Beauty Show (ABS) in Chicago, and as a top team member for the Fashion Frenzy competition, held by Beauty Systems Group in Schaumburg, Illinois. "I had about 750 hours to my credit when I did the model that won at ABS," says Dime.
"As a beauty school owner, every once in awhile you have a student who's so talented and dedicated that you know the world is his oyster," beams academy owner, Steven Papageorge. "Adrian's potential is limitless and his drive has already kicked into high gear. He loves to do photo shoots and fashion work; he volunteers for every hair activity at school."
"I want to be become part of a highpowered salon that has a structured apprenticeship program and is active with community, fashion and photo shoot events," smiles Dime. "I know that I will need to work my way up the ladder until I've earned the right to be a fully-vested stylist. This is a good thing, because I'm just beginning my beauty career. I believe that it's going to be a fabulous and happy journey—one I can't wait to begin."
|"My winning photos for the Rising Stars competition isn’t typical of my signature style, which is much edgier. But, because of my model’s personality and personal style, I wanted to make her fancy and glamorous." Adrian Dime
