Beautyby the Bay
Held at the posh Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel—a quick hop, skip and jump from the fabled Gaslamp district—Eufora/HERO (Eufora.net) rocked the worlds of 600 attendees with two days of main-stage events and classes. Stylists let loose at “CLUBEufora” after a full day of learning and viewing sensational runway shows, including hordes of hunks prancing about…ahem, HERO models…that delighted the audience by revealing their washboard abs and super-smooth dance moves.
CEO and co-founder Don Bewley beams, “This year’s Global Connection was the largest one ever, but it was still small enough for our team to personally interact with every attendee. The workshops also remained intimate enough to give every participant plenty of personal attention.”
Basking in the beauty spotlight, Eu-fora Stylist of the Year awards were ceremoniously awarded to Kera Spencer (Avant-garde); Lina Morra (Contemporary Classic); Emily Vogel (Makeover) and Anna Kufrejska (Men’s Trends). After many years of loyal and creative support, Dee For-tier was also officially named Eufora Int’l Artistic Director. But one of the greatest highlights of the second day involved Childhelp—Eufora/HE-RO’s chosen charity—which received a $110,000 check, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Eufora/HERO’s network of salons and distributors, plus the company’s generosity.Known for its staunch stand against diversion, Eufora/HERO focuses on independent salons. Because salon education is at the heart of this indie company’s culture, this year’s overriding message definitely hit a home run with all attendees: “If you build your team, you build your business.”
Dates for the next Global Connec-tion: Oct. 23 to 24, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel.
