A Unifying Element

Marsala, Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, makes an elegant, grounded beauty statement when used as a solid hair color or as an anchor for more vibrant hues.
The color god-a.k.a. Pantone Color Institute-has spoken and, to be honest, we were a bit surprised. Marsala-a cool, red-brown hue-has been crowned Pantone 2015 Color of the Year.

Of course, it didn’t take long for us to ditch our skeptical attitude once we heard what Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman had to say about her company’s star color. That woman always gets us on the first hello, or at least by her opening sentence.

Eiseman has a knack for wrapping global touchpoints and society’s shared emotions around every Pantone Top 10 Color.

She also emphasizes how certain colors can bring comfort, uplift our spirits and impart harmony and versatility among our wardrobes and surroundings.

“While Pantone Radiant Orchid, the captivating 2014 Color of the Year, encouraged creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confi dence and stability in a tumultuous world,” explains Eiseman.

“It’s also an incredibly versatile color for beauty that pairs exquisitely with monochromatic mixes of peachy pinks and sparkles against antiqued gold metallic, offering an assortment of lipstick and blush options.
Marsala also illuminates a range of smoky-neutral color combinations, making it a captivating eye-shadow color that can be worn from morning until night and is flattering against many skin tones.”

See what we mean? You simply can’t disagree with Eiseman and emerge the victor.

For this issue, we want to acquaint you with Marsala and its wealth of possibilities for fashion and hair color; go on a cosmetics shopping binge to see how well it pairs with turquoise and teal, vibrant blues and gold metallics (which Eiseman assures us that it will).

Because Eiseman has never been wrong in the past, we’re certain that we’ll all be more grounded and gorgeous by the end of our journey.
