BCA: 2014's Pink Haircare Products

How can you support Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Month with your everyday work? Easy: Invest in and retail products with a conscience.
BCA: 2014's Pink Haircare Products
O

One of the many wonderful things about our industry is the way we rally behind causes. Breast cancer awareness is no exception in the beauty industry, with hundreds of campaigns that put beauty pros in a unique position of power. The fight to stop cancer still continues, but the industry's contributions grow every year, thanks to product promos and donation campaigns that support research and awareness.

Here, we share several product promotions whose sales contribute to the worldwide fight against breast cancer:

Joico has joined forces with Bella Pilar, one of the most talented illustrators on the style scene, marrying her whimsical graphics with their most hardworking haircare products to bring you a line that “does good” in every sense of the word.

This year’s limited-edition “Power Up for Hope” promotions include top styling products Power Spray fast-dry finishing hairspray and Power Whip whipped foam, offered in a metallic pink sheen can with a one-of-a-kind illustration specially designed by Pilar. These top styling products will be available in special duo-pack promotions available this September and October.

Joico

Joico also provides support for salons and professional stylists who wish to hold their own breast cancer-related events in its do-it yourself BCA website, where you can create and promote your very own local efforts to help the cause. For more information, visit joico.com/bca.

This year, Pureology has donated $10,000 to City of Hope for breast cancer treatment, research and education. The company is also offering limited-edition pink products to help stylists show their support of the cause.

Pureology

The Pure Volume Breast Cancer Awareness Kit includes Shampoo, Condition and Instant Levitation Mist -- all of which amplify and fortify fine-textured tresses.

Additionally, the limited-edition Colour Fanatic (with a metallic pink label!) protects against heat-induced color fade to maintain hues for as long as possible.

Sexy Hair' will be transforming five of their top-selling red cans for the month of October. This year, Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play, Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Harder, Big Altitude, Big Sexy Hair Powder Play and Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal will feature a bright, jewel-toned pink with “CARING IS S*E*X*Y” branding on all five products.

This year, Sebastian Professional is showing their support for BCA with the help of their most iconic product! Sebastian has created limited-edition pink Shaper and Shaper Plus hairspray cans to support the cause, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Beginning in September through October, the pink Shaper cans will be available in BSG and CosmoProf stores nationwide.

Scruples is committed to supporting the fight against breast cancer by partnering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. For every Pink HIGH DEFINITION Hair Spray purchased during September and October, Scruples will donate a portion of the proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the advancement of breast cancer research.

Malibu C is running two special promotions this year, which include the Scalp Therapy and Transparent-C Wellness Treatments. Both treatments serve the dual purpose of supporting the cause (a portion of the proceeds are donated to breast cancer rehab support) and are beneficial for people going through cancer treatment.
