Gilded Gradient Nails from NYFW

These gorgeous gold nails were created by celebrity manicurist Casey Herman for the Michael Costello show during NYFW. Off the runway, this subtle glamorous look is perfect for holiday parties, fall/winter weddings, or even a hot date night! Get the how-to, here.
Gilded Gradient Nails from NYFW

Gilded Gradient How-to:

Step 1. Clean, trim and file your nails and push back cuticle with an orangewood stick.

Step 2. Apply base coat

Step 3. Apply base color (this is the lighter of the two colors) In this case, China Glaze Don`t Honk Your Horn.

Step 4. Add a coat of shimmer (Heaven, by China Glaze was used here)

Step 5. Dip the tip of a small makeup sponge into your contrasting color (Like Mingle with Kringle, used here). Smooth this color over the tip of your nail, working it all the way down to the halfway point of each nail.

Step 6. Apply the contrasting color in several layers. Each time, stop short of the point at which the previous layer ended. This will create a gradient effect along the nail, with the darkest spot being the very tip.

Step 7. Allow all layers to dry completely and apply a top coat.
