The Messy Bun

Learn to create this messy masterpiece
The Messy Bun
Messy Bun

F

Feminine and edgy, the messy bun is always a hot option in hair.

Joi Rooks, KMS California Artistic Team Member and owner of Atlanta's fresche salon demos the fine art of creating this messy masterpiece. Here's how:

Messy Bun How To

  1. Create two small topknots on top of the head

  2. Apply KMS California HAIRPLAY playable texture and rough up the hair with a brush to create a more lived in feel

  3. Take one of the topknots and split it in two (as if tying a knot) and randomly pin the leftover ends to the other side

  4. Repeat with the second top knot

  5. Leave loose pieces around the hairline and apply KMS California HAIRPLAY messing creme for polished texture
